Vic Studios in Wrexham has received further backing for its work with children and young people from the Thomas Howell’s Educational Fund for North Wales. The Fund has been a prominent supporter of Vic Studios since 2016, enabling us to extend the range of organisations we work with and services we provide. Its support is particularly welcome at this time as we seek to survive the significant impact Covid-19 has had on our day-to-day activities and emerge stronger when it recedes.

Since the March 2020 lockdown, we have worked hard to deliver online support to our more vulnerable service users. We are now close to securing new premises in Wrexham where we hope to start the next phase of our activities later in 2021.

Dave Gray, one of the volunteer Directors of Vic Studios, says: “The financial support we received from Thomas Howell’s Education Fund for North Wales in the past was pivotal in the development of our services.

This new grant gives us great confidence that our unique music-related referral services will continue to be available to children and young people referred to us by local agencies, charities, care providers, schools and families and that we will be well-placed to provide music lessons to children no longer able to access them at school.

It is difficult to make firm predictions while the Covid-19 crisis still rages, but we hope to resume normal services in autumn 2021 and are working hard to make sure our services, facilities and staff are ready for then because they will be much needed.”
