Vic Studios is a non-profit, social enterprise based in Wrexham. It helps young people referred to it by schools, youth services and charities in the local area to build confidence and improve their prospects through music.
Vic Studios has won financial support from the Big Lottery Awards for All fund for a project to help it reach more children and young people from the most deprived areas in Wrexham County.
Says Caroline Richards, a Director of Vic Studios:
“An independent report we commissioned in 2017 identified that young people and children from some of the more deprived areas in Wrexham County are under-represented in our user data. This funding from the Big Lottery will be used to run a series of events in collaboration with relevant community partners to reach them.
“Each event will be community based with a focus on making and performing music and be designed to boost the wellbeing of participants by contributing to their feelings of happiness and being trusted.”
