Friday was our last day in the Victoria Youth Centre, as we’re on our way to a new home!

Vic Studios has been based at the building on Hill Street since 2005, when it was opened as part of Wrexham Council’s Youth Service. Ten years later, in 2015, the Council withdrew its funding and Vic Studios closed for several months before being rescued by local people and restarting as a non-profit social enterprise in 2016. Now, in 2020, it’s time to take the next step!

Since reopening, we have been growing monthly, expanding our regular recording and practice sessions, while adding new services including music lessons – which we now offer in both ABSRM and Rock School.

Having to stop our face to face services over the lockdown period was tough, but thanks to the continued support of our users we realise what we do is more important than ever in the new normal world. So we’ve decided to take the plunge – starting the process of moving to a new, larger premises.

Don’t worry though! We’re not going away and we’ll still be delivering a comprehensive range of our services online thanks to help from National Lottery Community Fund and the Arts Council of Wales. We’ve also got some new projects to announce soon!

The future’s already looking bigger and better! Exciting news coming soon!
